Emerson's Power and Water Solutions team is seeking a Field Service Engineer with boiler experience to grow your career as a Process Tuner Field Engineer. The role is based in Houston, TX, but remote options are available for candidates with Ovation DCS experience and willing to travel 80% across North America.

You will lead tuning for boiler and BOP processes, coordinate with plant operations on site, and manage retrofit startups and testing to meet performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum eight years of field engineering related experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Understanding of boiler/turbine control schemes for conventional and CC plants.
• Experience tuning boilers, turbines, or renewable plants.
• Travel 80% of the time, primarily in North America.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for boiler or BOP processes.
• Tune plant processes with site operations for optimized productivity.
• Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning activities.
• Coordinate with stimulation group to tune high fidelity systems.
• Perform site acceptance and testing to meet performance targets.
• Advise engineering and management teams on complex technical problems.
• Engage customers to review service needs and system requirements.
• Develop and implement engineered system projects using current technologies.
• Provide project management on large installations and supervision of subcontractors.
• Assist in hiring of Field Engineers and participate in evaluations.
• Analyze warranty claims and resolve per warranty policies.
