As the Process Technician, you will support production, product service, and continuous improvement projects to achieve organizational objectives in areas of quality, cost reduction and production goals. You will be responsible for maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, with the aid of engineering design new test fixtures and repair current fixtures, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with all regulatory standards.
General to proficient skills to develop, construct and troubleshoot benchtop test setups in air, water, and electrical based on diagrams
Proficient skills set for understanding, performing and developing test protocols
General skills at designing, developing, conducting, documenting and constructing test fixtures and processes for Manufacturing and QA with engineering support.
General skills in product/process related troubleshooting down to the root cause
Basic to general understanding for reading and understanding data acquisition software such as LabVIEW, Benchlink or equivalent
Works directly with outside vendors and suppliers as required
Responsible for Preventive Maintenance of equipment and harnesses.
Responsible for maintaining update to date calibration on equipment used in production.
All other duties as assigned.
Troubleshoot problems within the various production lines related to assembly and testing processes and bring them to resolution using continuous improvement tools such as the A3 process and other root cause analysis tools.
Aid engineering in audit production line methods supported with GEMBA walks completed daily, i.e. rebalance, retrain, or document accordingly.
Aid in selecting production equipment and tool/fixture/gage design to implement production cost improvements, ensure quality and meet production schedules.
Engage in various Site‑specific Employee Engagement Processes such as: On The Spot, Fix It Ticket and others.
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
Engineering Technician I – 1 - 5 years technician experience in a QA, laboratory or manufacturing environment preferred
Engineering Technician II – 3 – 15 years technician experience in a QA, laboratory or manufacturing environment preferred
Engineering Technician III - +12 years technician experience in a QA, laboratory or manufacturing environment preferred
Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: electrical and electronics equipment, tool design technologies, cost and cycle reduction processes, process efficiency, metals and metal finishing, plastics and/or packaging production products
Capable of reading and understanding drawings, schematics , manuals and engineering specifications.
Ability to understand and use test and inspection equipment and gauges.
Experience in a regulated industry (FDA, ISO, medical device, etc.) helpful.
Experience with continuous improvement teams, lean manufacturing, etc. preferred.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), e‑mail and Internet.
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
Interpersonal skills to include customer-focused orientation with both internal and external customers.
Strong decision‑making skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
