Job summary

Wastequip in North Carolina is seeking a Process Technician to maintain and repair blow mold and injection mold equipment during production. You will troubleshoot presses, set up molds, adjust parameters, and support the production team to meet demand and quality goals.

You will operate and service water systems, connect hydraulics and pneumatics, and assist with training of Packer/Inspectors. The role requires forklift certification, experience with HDPE processing, and a strong focus on safety

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years Injection and/or blow molding experience.
  • 1–3 years robotics experience.
  • Experience with conveyors, sprue pickers.
  • Knowledge of HDPE processing.
  • Forklift certification is required and can be obtained on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair blow/injection mold machines during production.
  • Troubleshoot presses and set up molds to specification.
  • Monitor production quality and scrap to reduce waste.
  • Assist Shift Supervisor in training Packer/Inspectors.
  • Relieve Material Handlers during breaks.

Job description

Job Description:The Process Technician maintains and repairs the blow mold and/or injection mold machines during production. The Process Technician troubleshoots machinery, hot stamp machines and repairs/replaces mold parts during production. The Process Technician also assists the Supervisor in achieving production, quality, housekeeping, and safety goals.2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PMPay: $25hr + $1 shift differentialResponsibilities:Produce quality plastic wheels, lids, and small components for trash cansMake necessary adjustments to injection molding equipment to keep it within allowable specificationSet up injection/blow molding tool and molds, sample/production molds, set-up machine operating parameters to process parts to specifications and connect all water as needed (chilled and tower water)Start-up and troubleshoot problems at the press, inspect sample parts for accuracy, remove molds from the press, stage for disassembly, work with production teams to meet demand and continuous process improvement.Connect hydraulics for mold knock out pins, (repair/replace) as necessaryConnect pneumatic lines to molds (repair/replace) as necessaryConnect mold heaters and mold thermocouple cablesMake resin color changes on machines as necessaryAssist the Shift Supervisor in training and directing of Packer/Inspectors to achieve quality production.Enter end of shift production/downtime and quality information as requiredMonitor IQMS systemReport any unsafe or out of specification equipment in a timely mannerIn conjunction with Maintenance, diagnose, inspect, troubleshoot and investigate any issues with machinery during production.
