Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC in Henderson, NV is seeking a Process Technician to increase molding line output and reduce scrap. The role involves starting/stopping machines, color changes, and process adjustments to maintain efficiency and conformance, under supervision of the Production Manager.

Responsibilities include training technicians, tracking downtime and machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with Quality and Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-4-year college or technical degree preferred.
  • 2-4-year experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes preferred.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

  • Train Molding Technicians to improve technical capabilities and experience.
  • Track downtime, quality performance and machine efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and develop corrective actions.
  • System design on machines to improve layouts, tooling upgrades and safety improvements.
  • Order spare parts and necessary equipment for machines.
  • Follow ISO, Food Safety, and cGMP policies.

  • Lead teams to address scrap, quality or safety issues.

JOB TITLE: Process Technician

DEPARTMENT: 01 - Molding

LOCATION: Henderson, NV

REPORTS TO: Technical Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt

PURPOSE: Responsibilities are to increase Molding Machine output with enhanced technical training and development of the Molding Technicians and reduction of scrap. Under the supervision of the Production Manager, this person will be responsible for monitoring daily production, quality and scrap and maximizing equipment operations within established standards. Capable of safely performing machine start-up, shut-down, color changes, and any necessary processing changes to ensure that the machines are running at the proper efficiency and that the product is in conformance. In performing these responsibilities, employees are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement. Work with the Shift Supervisors and Production Manager to operate, troubleshoot, adjust, document, and communicate any equipment that is not performing within specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Train Molding Technicians to improve technical capabilities and experience.
  • Track downtime, quality performance and machine efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and develop corrective actions to these issues.
  • System design on the machines and equipment with the Production and Maintenance Managers to improve machine layouts, tooling upgrades, ergonomic and safety improvements.
  • Order spare parts and necessary equipment for machines.
  • Follows applicable ISO, Food Safety, and cGMP polices.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Organizes and leads employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
  • Looks for opportunities to improve processes and output utilizing MEEF and EFF reports and other reports as appropriate; presents improvement to Production Manager for review and approval; organizes and leads teams as needed to review and implement process improvements.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
  • Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance personnel concerning machine operations and any malfunctions
  • Employee may be required to work various shifts other than primary shift in order to perform job duties.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-4-year college or technical degree preferred.
  • 2-4-year experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities for self, and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred)
  • Excellent communication, investigation, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Six Sigma training preferred
  • Be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Previous skills in operation of forklift, overhead crane, scissor lift and pallet jack.
