Job summary

Injectech, LLC is seeking an Injection Molding Technician for on-site work in Fort Collins, CO. The role supports medical-device manufacturing with strong emphasis on process control and cleanroom standards.

Expect hands-on setup, mold changes, and validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) while documenting actions and maintaining quality. The schedule is Sun-Thu, 6:30am-3:00pm, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or assoc degree preferred.
• 2+ years hands-on injection molding experience in regulated manufacturing.
• Cleanroom experience and IQ/OQ/PQ validation exposure preferred.
• Formal injection molding/plastics processing cert (SIM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment per procedures.
• Perform mold installations, start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns in cleanrooms.
• Monitor process parameters; troubleshoot deviations and improve stability.
• Document process settings, mold history, deviations, and actions per ISO 13485.
• Participate in DOE studies, validations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train technicians in molding, cleanroom practices, and procedures.
• Maintain 6S in a safe, organized work area; follow all safety rules.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with established procedures, production requirements, and applicable medical-device manufacturing standards.
• Perform mold installations, machine start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns in accordance with approved procedures and cleanroom requirements.
• Support the handling, transportation, staging, and loading of raw materials used in the injection molding process, as needed.
• Set up, install, and remove injection molds in accordance with production schedules, setup sheets, and established procedures.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain consistent product quality, process stability, and efficient cycle times.
• Troubleshoot process deviations, part defects, equipment issues, and other molding-related problems; elevate issues when additional support is required.
• Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production personnel to maintain product conformance and process stability.
• Accurately document process settings, mold history, process deviations, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Follow cleanroom gowning, hygiene, material-handling, and contamination-control requirements at all times.
• Perform routine and minor maintenance activities on molding machines, tooling, and related equipment within the scope of the position; coordinate with Maintenance for repairs or issues requiring additional expertise.
• Participate in process validations, including IQ/OQ/PQ activities, Design of Experiments (DOE) studies, troubleshooting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned.
• Support the training and development of technicians in molding processes, equipment operation, cleanroom practices, and applicable procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 6S, safety, quality, and cleanroom requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in plastics, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years experience of hands-on injection molding experience, preferably in a medical-device or other regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a controlled cleanroom environment preferred.
• Experience supporting or participating in IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities preferred.
• Formal injection molding or plastics processing certification, such as Scientific Injection Molding (SIM), preferred.
• Working knowledge of injection molding machines, including FANUC, JSW, or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, process parameters, and common molding defects.
• Familiarity with medical-grade and engineering thermoplastics, such as PC, ABS, PA, PP, and acrylic.
• Understanding of cGMP principles and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, setup sheets, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify process or product abnormalities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following established procedures and quality requirements.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday (up to 8 hours).
• Ability to communicate verbally, hear clearly, and maintain corrected vision sufficient for reading, writing, inspecting equipment and components, monitoring processes, and completing required documentation.
• Physical agility to bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions while performing equipment setup, troubleshooting, mold changes, and routine maintenance activities.
• Precise hand-eye coordination for handling tools, small components, molds, and machinery safely and accurately.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfortable working in manufacturing and controlled cleanroom environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to industrial materials.
• Must follow all applicable cleanroom gowning, hygiene, PPE, safety, and contamination-control requirements.
