Process Specialist
As a Process Specialist, you aid plant operations by serving as a process expert and key influencer for furnace technicians and furnace staff. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to active ingredient manufacturing, including process feeds and controls that support safe, economical, and environmentally responsible operations. Through informal leadership, you support the manufacturing plant while driving long-term performance improvements and key performance indicators.
Serve as an expert resource on the daily operations and production of the assigned manufacturing and support areas.
Make tactical decisions and set long-term strategies to achieve area goals in safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability.
Coordinate with production planners on production strategy, sequencing, timing, and raw material availability.
Support plant leadership in evaluating, monitoring, and achieving key performance indicators.
Investigate performance issues related to the process, including safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, and reliability, and implement effective technical solutions.
Provide guidance to multidisciplinary optimization and reliability teams across sites.
Help develop continuous improvement goals and support resource prioritization.
Support site and area Production System initiatives, including OnePSS.
Identify, enable, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
Analyze production data and trends to identify opportunities for optimization and develop strategies to address any operational issues.
Maintain Process Management Files (PMF), Operating Instructions (OI), and process equipment operating instructions for the assigned manufacturing area.
Act as a process expert for HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analysis methodologies.
Support timely resolution of identified process safety risks and ensure adherence to relevant guidelines, design standards, and technologies.
Take a proactive approach to identify potential safety hazards and environmental risks, implementing measures to mitigate these risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Provide informal leadership, coaching, and constructive feedback to support the development of peers and area personnel.
Interface regularly with area management, operations specialists, shift leaders, process engineers, maintenance, QHSE, corporate resources, vendors, and support services to ensure effective and responsive plant support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
High School Diploma with 10 years of experience with elemental P4 furnaces or kiln operations.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capability to influence, coach, and persuade others.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with situational judgment.
Proficiency in clear oral and written communication.
Valid driver’s license.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $83,280.00 - $124,920.00. Compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
