The Quality Management department is responsible for ensuring that our cars meet all customer expectations and BMW internal requirements. We are the voice of the customer within the plant and are responsible for steering new topics as they arise and actively managing the problem-solving process. We perform this work in both daily production and new product launches.
The intern will have a mix of regular reporting tasks and project-based work in both office and hands‑on settings. The intern will be responsible for regularly reporting on our problem-solving landscape and supporting the quality steering team with their current topics. They will be involved in root cause analysis, gathering data, establishing containments, process improvements, analyzing data, and testing and validating solutions and poke‑yokes. This position allows the student to see how we monitor and control quality from a high‑level perspective as well as participate in problem‑solving teams developing and implementing solutions.
This position is also responsible for our quality management systems. The co‑op will manage the daily operation of our quality management tools and develop new features and systems as needed. The applications involved range from Oracle/SQL to APEX, VBA/MS Office‑based tools, and other BMW‑specific systems
