Job summary

Dennis Group in Austin, TX is seeking a University student or graduate with a chemical engineering focus to join our process engineering team. You will work on design and build projects for food and beverage facilities, contributing from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities include creating P&IDs and flow diagrams, performing mass and energy balances, coordinating with engineers and vendors, and supporting on-site startup and installation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs is a plus.
• Interest in food safety and sanitary design principles.
• Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
• Past process experience in food & beverage or sanitary environments is a plus.
• Motivated and results oriented attitude.
• GPA: 3.0 or above.
• Must meet Travel Requirement - On-site construction project coordination and management with travel 30-50% of the year

• Prepare process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Create process flow diagrams.

• Equipment procurement and bid evaluation.
• Assist project management with the development of project scope, budget, and schedule for all process related work
• Help to coordinate the schedules and work of contractors for process equipment installation.
• Work with clients, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost estimates and proposals.
• Provide client assumptions on supply recommendations.
• Develop process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs)
• Oversee process and utility equipment installations

Process Engineers work in every aspect of a project - controls, packaging, mechanical, electrical, building system, architecture, etc., from the conceptual stages to design completion, and throughout construction. Required Education Skills And Experience

• Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs is a plus.
• Interest in food safety and sanitary design principles and a desire learn about various food and beverage industry standards, practices, and regulations.
• Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
• Past process experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or other sanitary environments is a plus.
• Have a motivated and results orientated attitude.
• GPA: 3.0 or above
• Must meet Travel Requirement - On-site construction project coordination and management with travel requirements between 30-50% of the year

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
