OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a high school, technical school or community college Engineering or Drafting and Design student for a paid apprenticeship program in our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters. The Merrick Apprenticeship Program has a commitment of approximately 18 months to 2 years.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Produces drawings and project documentation using the basic working knowledge of the CAD software. Detailed design activities include preparation of PFDs/P&IDs, piping drawings, and other project documentation including Piping and Component lists using reporting software and project databases.
- Creates and manipulates basic drawings in an intelligent database environment.
- Complete revisions ofexisting technicaldrawings.
- Perform entry level routine technical work.
- Work on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role, with growth of role and responsibilities as apprenticeship progresses..
- Follow defined CAD standards and quality procedures.
- Receive initial instructions from a mentor or supervisor and have technical work checked upon completion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be pursuing an Associate Degree - Drafting/Design, Graphic Design or Technical College Certification or Equivalent Experience from high school CAD and engineering program.
- Minimum 0-2 years of experience.
- Client projects for this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of basic AutoCAD.
- Experience with solid modeling software is a plus. CREO, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, CADWorx or other 3D modeling packages.
- Understanding of basic drawing generation and layout.
- Knowledge of engineering principles.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Collaboration.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Local candidates preferred.
