Job summary

SemiConX in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for a full-time on-site role at a semiconductor facility. You will install, test, and maintain process piping and electrical systems, coordinating with engineers and project managers to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Your work includes reading blueprints, performing TIG/MIG welding when required, conducting hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, and mentoring junior pipefitters.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specs for piping and electrical installations.
  • Perform welding (TIG, MIG, stick) for piping components when required.
  • Install, repair, and align piping systems per design specs and industry codes.
  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to verify integrity.
  • Identify valves, fittings, and gaskets for intended applications.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, ANSI, OSHA and safety standards.
  • Inspect for leaks, corrosion, and flow issues; perform maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and materials.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior pipefitters.

Job description

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Journeyman Electrician at SemiConX. The Electrician will be located at a semiconductor facility in Boise, Idaho.


Qualifications


  • Pipe Installation:

  • Install, assemble, and repair piping systems for industrial processes, ensuring alignment with design specifications and industry standards.

  • Material Handling:

  • Work with various piping materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and other specialty alloys based on process requirements.

  • Blueprint Interpretation:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the correct placement and routing of piping systems.

  • Welding & Fabrication:

  • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication of piping components using TIG, MIG, and stick welding methods when required.

  • System Testing:

  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to ensure system integrity and detect leaks.

  • Fitting Selection:

  • Identify and select appropriate valves, fittings, flanges, and gaskets for the required application.

  • Pipe Support Installation:

  • Secure piping using appropriate supports, brackets, and hangers to prevent stress and ensure structural stability.

  • Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all installations comply with industry regulations such as ASME, ANSI, OSHA, and company safety standards.

  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and resolve piping system issues, including leaks, corrosion, and flow disruptions.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other trades to coordinate installation and maintenance activities.

  • Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system modifications for future reference.

  • Tool & Equipment Use:

  • Operate hand and power tools, such as pipe threaders, cutters, and benders, safely and efficiently.

  • Environmental Awareness:

  • Follow procedures for hazardous material handling and ensure environmental compliance in process piping operations.

  • Training & Mentorship:

  • Provide guidance and training to junior pipefitters and apprentices.

  • Using math

  • : Using math skills like algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to guide piping work.

  • Communicating

  • : Demonstrating verbal and written communication abilities
