Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is hiring a CNC Operator to set up and operate a range of manufacturing equipment in a climate-controlled factory. You will work on transitions including machining, welding, bonding and hand tools.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of CNC experience, knowledge of drawings and QA protocols, and a valid forklift/crane license or ability to obtain one. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered for a limited time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years in CNC operations (machining, welding, laser applications, coating machines).
• Active forklift/crane license or ability to acquire immediately on selection.
• Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; visa transfers possible.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines; read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Load/unload parts using material handling equipment; assist crane operator as needed.
• Follow safety, quality, and QA procedures; perform metrology and document results.
• Maintain equipment and contribute to a clean, organized work area.

Currently we are hiring in multiple product line manufacturing operations including – Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine and Combustion Components in a climate-controlled factory.

A Snapshot of Your Day

Set-up and operate a variety of manufacturing equipment using CNC controls for multiple operations on transitions, to include but not limited to machining, bonding, welding, manual machining and hand tools, etc.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Embrace Safety & Quality Culture.
• Required to lift / move 50lbs of materials
• Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufactures specifications, etc., and determine necessary tools to perform required machining operations
• Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts), loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator.
• Follows Siemens established procedures to operate machinery and equipment.

What You Bring

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in CNC operations, specifically in the following areas:
• Machining
• Welding
• Laser applications
• Coating machines (specific experience preferred)
• Required Certifications:
• Fork truck/crane license (Active or ability to acquire it immediately on selection)
• Career Readiness / Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status.
• Skills: Proficient in CNC operation, loading/unloading workpieces, adhering to QA protocols, performing complex metrology, and interpreting complex drawings; strong shop math skills

Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Process Operator Proficiency Test.

Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests as required to perform the duties.
