Baptist Health is seeking a Process Lab Aide - PRN to support the laboratory with test ordering, result reporting by telephone, and specimen handling. The role includes shifting on varying schedules with weekend rotations and call responsibilities.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, entering orders in the LIS, printing and distributing reports, and communicating results to physicians and nurses. This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and adherence to EEO policies.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with ordering and reporting lab results is a plus.

• Transports specimens to the appropriate processing area.

Process Lab Aide - PRN

Varying Shifts - Rotating Weekends/Call

Responsible for correctly ordering lab tests to be performed and accurately reporting lab results by telephone.

Job Duties:

• Receives specimens, processes specimens, results and charges appropriate tests.
• Understands pertinent LIS functions and performs procedures effectively.
• Performs data entry of patient information, ordering of tests, scheduling tests, etc. in laboratory computer and reviews the Expected List for specimens not received into the laboratory.
• Prints, sorts and distributes lab reports; answers telephone and relays messages.
• Notifies phlebotomists of orders to be collected and communicates test information and results to physicians, nurses and outside clients.
• Transports specimens to the processing area or appropriate lab department.
