The Role

Defines, designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across organization. Defines improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Analyzes improvement programs and potential results. Facilitates and coaches improvement teams. Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success. Installs process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications and rewards. May have six-sigma certification.

Support Deckplate leaders in ongoing continuous improvement efforts that satisfy requirements for the Critical Process Management Plans (CPMP) and the Self-Assessment Program as a part of our Quality Management System. Regularly attend CPMP council meetings to influence self-assessment efforts. Serve as a liaison between O07 Process Enterprise Assessment and leadership to help develop Self-Assessments as scheduled. Provide timely and relevant evaluations/feedback on improvement efforts. This role requires a high amount of agility, emotional intelligence, and technical/leadership skills. Must be skilled in facilitation and delivering training.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Nice to Have
  • Experience with process improvement and/or project management
  • Experience with shipbuilding and knowledge of associated processes
  • Leadership experience
