Job summary

Valin Corporation in Houston, TX, seeks a Design Engineer to design and implement process heating solutions. You will bridge customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-performance systems across industries including oil & gas, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing.

This role involves supporting the full project lifecycle, pre-sales to commissioning, with site visits, technical discussions, and training.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or related field.
Proven process heat, power distribution and control experience.
Strong understanding of heater and heat trace circuits, component sizing, thermal controls, AC and DC power distribution and electrical control panel design.
SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD and MS Office experience.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Fundamental programming and configuration knowledge is a plus.
Experience with thermal control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation preferred.
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, .NET) is a plus.
Experience in semiconductor, biotech, or high-tech manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Partner with sales engineers to support customer-facing technical discussions and solution development during site visits.
Provide a technical interface for heating and freeze protection applications including heater sizing and controls configuration.
Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions, bills of materials, and proposals.
Design and layout heat trace circuits, industrial control panels and thermal controls using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
Configure and program thermal control components using vendor tools.
Work closely with suppliers to select and apply the right technologies.
Create and maintain manufacturing BOMs, assembly CAD documentation in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD, control configurations/programs and test procedures.
Support the full project lifecycle: pre-sales (design/quoting) to post-sales (troubleshooting/commissioning).
Provide technical training and support for customers and internal teams.
Stay current on process heat and freeze protection technologies, competitor products, and market trends.
Contribute technical expertise to marketing content and product positioning.
