Job summary

Impact Staffing in Laurens, SC is hiring a Process & R&D Engineering Technician to work on the plant floor and in the lab, running trials and addressing process issues to improve daily production and contribute to R&D work.

You will plan and execute trials, collect and analyze data, draft reports and SOPs, and support equipment uptime, safety, and EHS standards in a hands-on role with first-shift hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing role.
• Comfortable working across plant floor and lab settings.
• Strong data accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient with common software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot process, equipment, and tooling issues across batching, pressing, firing, and casting.
• Plan and execute process and R&D trials, including setup, monitoring, and data collection.
• Prepare experimental samples and support material characterization and testing.
• Operate and calibrate lab and process test equipment for accurate results.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data; draft reports and present findings.
• Draft and maintain SOPs and technical documentation.
• Support TPM activities and drive equipment uptime and yield.
• Perform quality checks and ensure safety and EHS compliance.

Job description

Established manufacturer in Laurens is hiring a Process & R&D Engineering Technician. This role puts you on the plant floor and in the lab, running trials, chasing down process issues, and helping shape both day-to-day production performance and R&D work.

$60,000-$75,000 per year / 1st shift, Monday-Friday

What You’ll Do:

• Troubleshoot process, equipment, and tooling issues across batching, pressing, firing, and casting
• Plan and execute process and R&D trials, including setup, monitoring, and data collection
• Prepare experimental and trial samples, and support material characterization and testing
• Operate and calibrate lab and process test equipment for accurate, reliable results
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process and experimental data; draft reports and present findings to the team
• Draft and maintain SOPs and technical documentation
• Support Total Productive Maintenance activities and help drive equipment uptime and yield improvement
• Perform quality checks and inspections, maintaining compliance with safety and EHS standards

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment
• Self-directed problem solver comfortable working across both plant-floor and lab settings
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Proficient with common computer software for data entry, analysis, and reporting
