Job summary

The Marzetti Company is offering a 12-week Summer Internship Program in Kentucky for students pursuing engineering. The Process Engineering Manufacturing Intern will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and process improvement while learning to prioritize safety, quality, and efficiency in a production environment.

You will own meaningful projects, develop your professional network, and potentially transition to part-time or full-time roles based on performance and business

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with a focus in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Leadership or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CAD or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with data analysis and process improvement
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Action-oriented with sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution
• Works effectively both independently and in team settings

• Support multiple process improvement projects through various phases of project execution
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Lean).
• Support quality assurance activities, including inspections and audits.
• Manage and communicate project goals and progress
• Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improved production
• Supports work plans, quality control, and material costs within established guidelines
