Job summary

PPG is seeking a Process Engineering Manager to lead the site's Process Engineering function, driving process safety, product quality, asset performance, and cost improvements. You will provide technical leadership for optimization, PSM, capital projects, technology implementation, and new product development.

You will manage a team of Process Engineers, collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams to meet strategic goals and regulatory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is required.
  • Advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, or operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
  • Experience in process optimization, process safety, manufacturing support, and capital project execution.
  • Experience in batch and chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting automotive industry customers and compliance with IATF 16949 and CSR.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
  • Experience with new product commercialization, process validation, and product industrialization.
  • Chemical process design, optimization, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • OSHA and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949).
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and risk reduction plans.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental regulations, and corporate EHS standards.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and process risk assessments.
  • Support incident investigations and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead plans to improve safety, quality, reliability, capacity, yield, energy efficiency, and manufacturing costs.
  • Use data analytics, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies to improve.
  • Establish process performance indicators and operational goals.
  • Lead process engineering activities for capital projects from concept through commissioning and startup.
  • Guide implementation of new technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and process improvements.
  • Support scale-up and industrialization of new products and formulations.
  • Develop technical and economic evaluations to support decisions.
  • Lead a team of Process Engineers and technical professionals.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams to achieve our goals.
  • Support strategic planning, capacity expansion, and productivity plans.
  • Be the technical representative during customer audits, regulatory inspections, and corporate reviews.
  • Support automotive and other regulated industries through compliance with customer-specific requirements and quality standards.

Job description

As the Process Engineering Manager, you will lead the site's Process Engineering function to ensure world-class standards in process safety, product quality, asset performance, and cost. You will provide technical leadership for process optimization, process safety management (PSM), capital projects, technology implementation, and new product development. Reporting to the Director of Plant Management, you will collaborate with multiple teams in this role. These teams include Manufacturing, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams. Your responsibilities will involve improving our performance, supporting strategic growth plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and corporate requirements. You will develop engineering talent and foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities
