X-energy in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking interns for a Summer 2027 program. You will work alongside engineers and professionals on TRISO-X fuel fabrication projects, supporting research, analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in - or recent completion of - a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, nuclear engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset—you're eager to learn and ready to contribute.
• Academic or hands-on knowledge in CAD; P&ID; experience with industrial equipment design, procurement, installation, and operation.

Responsibilities

• Support active engineering projects in your area of study, contributing to TRISO-X fuel fabrication efforts.
• Assist with day-to-day departmental or team operations.
• Participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project discussions, offering input as appropriate.
• Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Help organize and maintain project files, documents, and records.
• Conduct research and gather information for ongoing initiatives and projects.
• Help prepare reports, presentations, or other materials as needed.
