Novelis in Warren, OH is offering a on-site Process Engineering internship for approximately 12 weeks this summer. The intern will work closely with Process Leaders and Process Engineers on projects focused on quality, process improvements, and customer centricity.

The role provides hands-on industry experience, exposure to sustainability initiatives, and cross‑functional teamwork across operations, maintenance, reliability, and automation teams.

Position Overview:

Novelis in Warren, OH has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2027 internship. The team is seeking a Process Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Process Leader and work alongside with the Process Engineers, working on a project focused on customer centricity, quality, and/or process improvements, based on the plant’s needs and intern’s interests.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of a project focused on quality, process improvement, or customer centricity, working with the Process Engineers for support
• Support Process Engineers in cross-functional improvement projects
• Learn about sustainability, quality, customer satisfaction and implement knowledge by sharing with operations
• Work in multi-functional groups to support engineering, maintenance, reliability, and automations as we all support the needs of operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.
• Interested in gaining hands‑on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or related fields

Location Profile

Novelis’ Warren facility is located in northeast Ohio— approximately an hour drive from Cleveland and an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. The facility built in 1965 applies coating to rolled aluminum beverage can sheet. The sheet is used to make aluminum beverage can ends (lids) for global soft drink beer and sparkling water brands. Warren showcases several high‑end cultural venues including the Warren Community Amphitheater and Packard Music Hall. The 95+ employee Warren team is active in the community promoting recycling supporting STEM education and offering a helping hand to local community shelters.
