Job summary

Standard Aero in the United States is seeking a Process Engineer (Temporary - 12 months) to support design, commissioning, testing, and continuous improvement of industrial facility systems and process equipment within our gas turbine engine MRO operations.

You will manage projects across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines, prepare technical reports, and lead root cause analyses and cost-benefit justifications to ensure timely delivery and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in aviation/aerospace industry.
• Experience with industrial machinery such as CNC centers and robotic cells.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and coordinate trades.
• Familiarity with gas turbine maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion 360).
• Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, and scheduling for multiple projects across internal departments and external contractors.
• Prepare technical reports for internal use and approvals by local authorities.
• Implement preventative maintenance plans and provide troubleshooting instructions.
• Provide technical ownership for facility systems and process equipment; conduct root cause analyses.
• Develop cost-benefit analyses and technical justifications for proposals.
• Manage budgets and timelines to meet project requirements.
• Identify and implement improvement programs; analyze line stops, MRBs, and repair performance.
• Develop repairs and refine repair schemes with OEMs and internal teams.
• Create and update process instructions, routings, and repair procedures.
• Offer support and consultation for new repairs and processes.
• Interpret and revise technical drawings.
• Ensure observance of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.

PROCESS ENGINEER (Temporary - 12 months)

As a Process Engineer your responsibilities will include design, engineering, commissioning, new product introduction, testing, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and technical support for industrial facility systems, process equipment, machinery, and various processes for an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization for gas turbine engines and components.

What you'll do:

• Manage the planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, scheduling, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities of multiple projects by coordinating effort with various internal departments, project teams, outside contractors and consultants.
• Manage engineering projects requiring mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural, and chemical considerations. Prepares technical reports for internal use and for submission to local technical authorities for approval.
• Deploy turn-key preventative maintenance plans, visual aids, operating instructions, and troubleshooting instructions for equipment where applicable.
• Provide technical support and engineering ownership for various facility systems, machinery, and process equipment to support effective MRO processes. Including facilitation of failure modes and effects analysis or root cause analysis initiatives to prevent or resolve challenges.
• Develop detailed cost benefits analysis and technical justification for project proposals
• Manages budgets and timelines to ensure delivery of projects within proposed requirements.
• Identifies and establishes improvement programs through root cause analysis (i.e., repair instructions, proper sequencing, inspection criteria, gauges, fixtures, machines, etc.), analysis of turn times, work in process, non-conformance tags (NCTS), material review board (MRBs), process interruptions, other line stoppages, warranty failure modes, field reliability of repairs, investigation of repair related field problems, line build problems, and subcontractor's repair performance.
• Develops repairs (non-standard in conjunction with OEM, in-house engineers, and outside services as required). Refines existing repair schemes to eliminate the frequent need for in-process rejects and MRBs.
• Owns, generates, maintains, and updates process instructions; prepares production routings and detailed repair instructions based on approved data.
• Provides support and consultation services to business unit personnel and to the repair development facilities wit regard to the development and implementation of new repairs and processes or repair development projects.
• Originates, revises & interprets technical drawings.
• Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices or conditions.
• Carry out special duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

• Previous experience in aviation, aerospace, or other related industry.
• Practical experience with implementing and maintaining industrial machinery such as CNC machine centers, vacuum furnaces, balance machines, robotic cells, and chemical processes lines.
• Experience interpreting and reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades, skilled technicians and contractors.
• Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and overhaul of gas turbine engines.
• Working knowledge of gas turbine/accessory design theory, basic machine shop practices and basic gas turbine metallurgy; familiarity with engine manuals.
• Direct engineering experience with the General Electric CFM56-7B engine product line preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of failure modes and effects analysis.
• Design and drafting skills (CAD), AutoCAD, Auto desk, Inventor, and Fusion 360 are preferred.
