Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL, is recruiting for a Spring Co-Op in Process Engineering. You will gain hands-on experience in design, development, manufacturing and product modifications while rotating through multiple teams onsite.

The program offers coaching, mentorship, and leadership development with opportunities to network. You must be enrolled in a relevant engineering program with a GPA of 2.8+ and available for full-time work.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of the co-op pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in mechanical, materials, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 required.
  • Must have completed one year of school by the start of the co-op.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive and influence continuous improvement activities in collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering.
  • Supervise key operational performance indicators and report results versus the established goals.

Positions located in Jacksonville, FL.

Life as an Engineering Co-Op

The co‑op program provides each student with real‑life hands‑on experience, coaching and mentoring, and networking opportunities. When you join our family, you will work on projects that improve your leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Be involved in the design, development, manufacturing and commercialization of new products or product modifications. Cross‑functional teamwork provides an opportunity to partner with a variety of people in the organization. We offer an interactive team environment, where your capabilities and skills will be developed to build a strong career foundation. Spring co‑op typical term is January - June (dates are flexible). The team would prefer the candidate to be able to complete multiple rotations of a co‑op. Assignment will be onsite. The role may offer one‑time housing stipend assistance. Transportation is the student’s responsibility. Full time availability (40 hours per week). Career mentorship is available with endless networking opportunities within assigned team and beyond. Pay rate is determined based on the grade level at time of offer. This position is overtime eligible. Employee may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs, such as medical benefits and sick time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and Analyze data to find opportunities for improvement

  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required

Experience and Skills
  • Required:
    • Availability to work full‑time, 40hrs./week for the duration of the co‑op is required
    • Availability to complete multiple rotations of a co‑op is required
    • Ability to provide transportation to/from the work location if on‑site work is required
    • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
    • Excellent communication, presentation skills and leadership skills are preferred
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while executing results
    • Must be a self‑starter who works independently while contributing to the team goals
    • Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
  • Preferred:
    • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H‑1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
    • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long‑term status that does not require company sponsorship.
    • Ineligible for severance.
    • If you are under 18 years of age, you (the candidate) may need to obtain the necessary working papers or other documentation required by state law to start the assignment, as well as get a parent’s consent for the background check.
