Job summary

WestRock Company in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical services for quality, cost, and environmental process improvements. You will monitor, investigate, and recommend improvements while supporting capital projects and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of industry experience in paper mill or process engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide management with information on quality and operating parameters for process control and budgeting.
• Conduct environmental audits and propose solutions.
• Assist with quality and customer issues.
• Maintain chemical inventories and support testing.
• Understand lab and test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Participate on process improvement teams to identify problems and implement changes.
• Contribute to capital project activities and commissioning.
• Promote safety and environmental compliance.
• Support training and development to prepare for higher roles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
