Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Defense Sector at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role focuses on process development and optimization for propellant preparation using state-of-the-art tools.

You will conduct literature searches, develop enhanced propellants, create ingredients for additive manufacturing, and support scaling from lab to pilot and production stages. A BS in chemical engineering with 2–6 years of relevant experience and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with process development tools and techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing literature searches to stay current on ingredients, processes and techniques.
• Develop new enhanced performance propellants using traditional formulation processes and AM techniques.
• Develop customized ingredients to enable additive manufacturing of propellants.
• Support the transition of laboratory-scale methods to pilot and production scales.
