Illuminate USA in Columbus, OH is seeking a Process Engineer for our new factory to develop and optimize continuous production processes, targeting output, quality, and cost goals.

The role emphasizes data analysis, bottleneck resolution, and cross-department coordination to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and support a scalable manufacturing operation in Central Ohio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is typical for this role.
  • 0-2 years of related experience is typical for this position.
  • Strong knowledge of production safety is required.
  • Knowledge of lean production and production quality is valuable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve.
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Analyze process-related exceptions and technical issues that arise during production, ensuring timely handling and resolution.
  • Coordinate activities related to process, materials, equipment, and new product trials on the production line.
  • Control and improve workshop process indicators such as string repair rate, stacking repair rate, first-pass yield, and hidden crack rate.
  • Lead projects, promote continuous improvement, and reduce costs while increasing efficiency.
  • Coordinate implementation of work among departments and provide technical support to customers.
  • Lead analysis of non-conforming products and provide timely feedback to relevant departments.
  • Supervise the implementation of solutions in subsequent production.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

We are currently looking for a Process Engineer for our new factory in Columbus, Ohio. This production technical engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve.
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials.
  • Analyze process‑related exceptions and technical issues that arise during production, ensuring timely handling and resolution to maintain normal operation.
  • Participate in and coordinate activities related to process, materials, equipment, and new product trials on the production line, including data collection, organization, and reporting.
  • Control and improve workshop process indicators such as string repair rate, stacking repair rate, first‑pass yield, and hidden crack rate.
  • Lead and establish project work, promote continuous improvement, and reduce costs while increasing efficiency.
  • Coordinate implementation of work among departments within the workshop, handle workshop‑related anomalies, and provide technical support to customers.
  • Lead the analysis of non‑conforming products, propose reasonable solutions, and provide timely feedback to relevant departments.
  • Supervise the implementation of the solutions in subsequent production.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (typical).
  • 0‑2 years of related experience (typical).
  • Strong knowledge of production safety.
  • Knowledge of lean production and production quality.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong learning agility, open mind and curiosity.
  • Strong sense of ambition, self‑motivation and self‑discipline.
