Job summary

LOOS & CO., INC. is seeking a Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining reliable production processes. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve process capability, equipment performance, and product quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on floor support, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement across machining and tooling in a precision manufacturing environment in Pomfret, CT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• 3+ years of process, manufacturing, or production engineering experience.
• Experience with machining or equipment-intensive manufacturing processes.
• CNC machining and/or screw machine experience preferred.
• Experience collaborating with production staff, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, equipment, and work instructions.
• Maintain active floor presence to troubleshoot and support production staff.
• Analyze cycle time, scrap, downtime, yield, and throughput to identify improvements.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize machine settings, tooling, and process parameters to boost productivity and quality.
• Support introduction of new products, processes, tooling, and equipment; ensure production readiness.
