Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc., is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize operations under the Engineering Manager. You will lead SPC-related activities to keep key products on point and drive improvements in first pass yields and cost.

This role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering, 5–8 years of process engineering experience, and 3+ years in chemical synthesis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5–8 years in a process engineering role.
• 3+ years in chemical synthesis, preferably in batch operation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SPC activities for critical processes.
• Daily production quality, cycle time, EHS compliance checks.
• Identify root causes for out-of-control products and implement corrective actions.
• Manage Nonconforming Material Reports and drive root cause analysis.
• Write/modify work instructions for existing products.
• Support pilot-to-full-scale manufacturing with documentation and training.
• Lead process engineering-related capital projects.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Production; ensure change control.
• Support EHS activities and calibration program.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Process Engineer who’s ready to dive into optimizing our operations! Under the guidance of our Engineering Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our key products on point with Statistical Process Control. You’ll bring your engineering skills to the table to boost first pass yields, streamline processes, and drive cost improvements. What will you be doing?

• Monitor processes closely and oversee SPC related activities for critical processes
• Daily monitoring of production for quality, cycle time, EHS compliance, and consistency with documented work practices
• Determine root causes for out-of-control products as well as other product failures and follow through with corrective actions
• Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) as assigned and ensure timely closeout of reports and drive root cause, corrective action resolution and minimize repeat common occurrence.
• Write and modify Work Instructions for existing products.
• Supports the transition from pilot to full-scale manufacturing through process documentation, batch validation, and operator training.
• Ability to lead process engineering related Capital Projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve process equipment related problems.
• Collaborate with Maintenance/Production and follow proper Management of Change protocol on equipment repairs and process changes to ensure maximum process safety
• Function as secondary resource for Plant EHS Activities such as waste management shipment coordination, permit compliance monitoring, external and internal auditing, and EHS systems performance validation
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Production and oversee execution of equipment and instrumentation calibration program

Who are You?

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering
• 5 to 8 years related experience preferred in a process engineering role.
• Over 3 years in chemical synthesis, preferably in batch operation.

The typical base salary range for this position is between $95,406.00 and $143,108.00
