Job summary

Abbott Laboratories, a global healthcare leader, seeks an Engineer to perform analyses, develop design specs, and define performance requirements for manufacturing processes in the US. You will select techniques, solve problems, and make sound design recommendations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 2–4 years of manufacturing experience and a Bachelor’s in Engineering or technical field, with travel flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or technical field.
  • 2–4 years manufacturing experience.
  • Experience designing and testing medical devices.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes processes based on product specifications.
  • Evaluates process and design alternatives based on design for manufacturability.
  • Understands principles of Cost of Goods Sold.
  • Manages program compliance with Quality Control requirements (Design Control, Process validation).
  • Understands IP issues relative to processes being developed.
  • Maintains knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
  • Complies with FDA regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains positive communications with all stakeholders.
