Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leader in sustainable packaging, seeks a Process Engineer to manage technical projects focused on process improvements, cost reduction, and profitability enhancements. You will support mill departments with continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma principles and PI systems to gather data and drive optimization.

Requirements include a Chemical or Paper Engineering degree and 4+ years in process engineering, with PI training preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Paper Engineering/Paper Science.
• 4+ years of experience in a process engineering role preferable.
• Experience in the paper or related industry preferred.
• PI Training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical projects for product and process problem-solving and improvements.
• Provide technical assistance across mill departments to achieve goals.
• Drive continuous process improvement using Lean Six Sigma principles, tools and procedures.
• Troubleshoot unit operations to identify improvements and cost reductions.
• Set up trials, MOC’s, trial plans, and PAS documentation; report findings and recommendations.
• Lead mil personnel as a shift operations manager when needed.
