Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Process Engineer to support ethanol production facilities. You will develop PFDs/P&IDs, specify equipment, and optimize plants to reduce energy use and waste while improving yields.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in biofuels/process engineering, strong CAD and process-simulation skills, and a detail‑oriented mindset aligned with teamwork and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 3–5+ years in process engineering (biofuels/ethanol) with PFD/P&ID development, equipment specification, and plant optimization.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and process simulation packages (e.g., Aspen/ChemCAD).
  • Meticulous attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, ability to work independently after an initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a basic understanding of ICM processes and issue information to customers.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved ethanol manufacturing processes, including PFD/P&ID and equipment specifications.
  • Develop material and energy balances for new processes with input from senior engineers.
  • Lead design and planning for equipment to carry out ethanol processes on industrial scale.
  • Analyze procedures and equipment to reduce processing time and cost.
  • Design processes to control movement and storage of solids, liquids, and gases.
  • Plan measurement and control systems for ethanol plants based on data from labs, pilots, and operations.
  • Determine optimal unit operation layouts balancing requirements, economics, safety, and operator effectiveness.
  • Lead workers operating equipment to achieve desired chemical or physical changes.
  • Perform tests and measurements to monitor control over variables like temperature, density, and pressure.
  • Apply chemical engineering principles to solve environmental problems.

You will assist with troubleshooting issues at operating plants and develop solutions that are timely and cost effective. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. 1. Develop a basic understanding of ICM processes such as issuing information to customers.

  3. 3. Develop material and energy balances for new and developing processes with some input from senior engineers.
  4. 4. Design, plan layout, and assist customer engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving equipment to carry out ethanol processes on industrial scale.
  5. 5. Analyze operating procedures and equipment and machinery function to reduce processing time and cost.
  6. 6. Design processes to control movement and storage of solids, liquids, and gases.
  7. 7. Design and plan measurement and control systems for ethanol plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments, pilot plant operations, and industrial scale operations.
  8. 8. Determine most effective arrangement of unit operations exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards.
  9. 9. Lead activities of workers who operate and control such equipment as condensers, evaporators, pumps, columns, heat exchangers, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, pipelines, and centrifuges to affect required chemical or physical change.
  10. 10. Perform tests and take measurements throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
  11. 11. Apply principles of chemical engineering to solve environmental problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in process engineering (biofuels/ethanol ), with PFD/P&ID development, equipment specification, and plant optimization work.
  • Tools & tech: Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and common process simulation packages (e.g., Aspen/ChemCAD).
  • Core skills: Meticulous attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and the confidence to work independently after an initial training period.
