Since closing our Series B funding round, we are rapidly expanding our team to advance and commercialize our disruptive technology.

As a Process Engineer, you will be a crucial part of the team: working across multiple disciplines, including robotics, fluid handling, and embedded software, in a fast-paced research and development environment. You will be hands-on with our printing technology, helping us scale and improve our processes and guide our experiments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigate our complex, multi-physics system to gain a fundamental understanding of the system and use learnings to improve our printing methods and processes
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to analyze in-situ data as well as post-print material characteristics and rapidly iterate on improving the printing technology
  • Collect and analyze test data using our printers
  • Assist in supervision of other members of technical staff, including planning and reporting of technical progress

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Physics; or a related field
  • Strong science background, proven in either independent experience with custom hardware and/or research, working across disciplines.
  • Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting: use of multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • 2+ years of proven related industry experience, with non-academic research experience a plus
  • 2+ years of experience developing software using Python, especially for data analysis

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Physics; or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of semiconductor and MEMS devices, nanofabrication process flows, and root cause analysis (RCA) and failure analysis.
  • Experience with 3D printers and other additive manufacturing techniques, a plus but not required
  • Experience with prototyping and assembling, troubleshooting, modification; and/or with reiterative design based on test results.

Why Work at Fabric8Labs?

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including equity compensation, health, dental, and vision plans; 401(k) with employer match; and an unmetered vacation policy.
