Job summary

The BENTELER Group’s Steel/Tube division in the United States is seeking a professional Engineer to optimize equipment, investigate engineered improvements, and drive continuous improvement across finishing lines. You will troubleshoot issues, develop procedures, and assist in lean initiatives while collaborating with production, maintenance and sales teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, a strong grasp of finishing processes, and excellent analytical and communication

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a similar field.
• 3–5 years of prior technical work experience.
• Excellent understanding of finishing processes.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and resolution skills.
• Strong safety awareness and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results through people, technology and process.
• Experience with Seamless Pipe Mill is a big plus.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to organize and explain complex data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Optimize equipment and implement new engineered improvements.
• Troubleshoot, advise, and fix design, process, and production quality issues.
• Assist in training production/maintenance on Finishing Lines and Quench & Temper.
• Contribute to procedure development with production teams for Finishing Lines and Quench & Temper.
• Support other Process Engineers on special projects.
• Develop and implement work procedures, PMs and LOTO.
• Participate in down days, outages and special projects.
• Engage in 5S, Lean programs and continuous improvement activities.
• Lead or assist root cause analysis for quality and productivity issues.
• Perform statistical process and product data analysis to identify variations and countermeasures.
• Provide input for improvement of the Technological Product Calculation.
• Respond to sales inquiries about producibility of product properties.
