Job summary

TEL is seeking participants for a Summer 2027 Internship in Austin, TX. Projects center on developing and evaluating semiconductor processes with hands-on learning and Lean thinking to deliver value to the business.

Duration runs May 17th– August 20th, 2027. Interns will work with engineers, analyze data, and prepare a final project report while completing safety training in TEL's process lab.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing undergrad/grad in nanoscience or engineering fields.
  • Experience with DOE methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Fluent in English
  • Team and independent work capability
  • Experience with lab safety
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary team
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Develop new or modified processes and methods applied in the manufacturing, fabrication, and evaluation of semiconductors
  • Work with group engineers to propose criteria and formats for hardware and process evaluations
  • Compile, analyze and present experimental data to colleagues
  • Create and revise standard operating procedures as needed, and document tasks for future reference
  • Compile and analyze test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications
  • Assist in recommendation and interpretation of physical and chemical behaviors as part of process characterization
  • Become familiar with semiconductor processing techniques through literature and hands on learning
  • Prepare and present a final project report
  • Complete safety training to allow supervised work in the TEL process lab

Summer 2027 Internship
Duration:

What You Can Expect:

  • Lean Thinking: Interns are expected to apply Lean principles and continuous improvement thinking throughout their project work; Lean training and resources will be provided.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new or modified processes and methods applied in the manufacturing, fabrication, and evaluation of semiconductors
  • Work with group engineers to propose criteria and formats for hardware and process evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Nanoscience or Engineering; Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering; Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields
  • Experience with Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiment methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to work in teams as well as individually
  • Experience working safely in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals
  • Ability and desire to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary and diverse team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship
Physical Requirements:

Job duties may be performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required . May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing . May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required .

Salary Ranges

$21.69 - $29.01

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
