Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited seeks a process engineer to deliver day-to-day process engineering support for MSDP Operations, guiding safe and efficient plant performance. This 12-month maximum-term role involves collaboration with operators, maintainers and engineers during commissioning, ramp-up and steady-state transition.

Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, you will participate in start-up, ramp-up, and performance monitoring, with a focus on safety, reliability and data-driven improvements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering with relevant process engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical or chemical processing environments.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process flowsheets, unit operations and control systems (DCS/SCADA).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot process issues and drive data-informed improvements.
  • Solid knowledge of safety and environmental requirements within a mining or chemical processing environment.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational setting

The opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, this role provides day-to-day process engineering and technical support to the MSDP Operations Team, operating under the direction of the Senior Process Engineer. The role plays a key part in phased commissioning, plant ramp-up, and transition to steady-state operations, working directly with operators, maintainers, and technical personnel to drive safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.


This is a 12-month maximum term role which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.


Key responsibilities


  • Provide day-to-day process engineering support to operations, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable plant performance.

  • Support commissioning, start-up and ramp-up activities, capturing lessons learned to optimise performance.
