Qualifications

  • Lean manufacturing training and experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and process engineering services to support development and commercialization of new products.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and world-class operations management methodologies.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to align schedules with minimal customer impact.
  • Troubleshoot production and process issues; implement corrective actions and document root causes.
  • Develop and validate trials, scale-ups, and process validations for manufacturing.

Job Description

Provides technical and process engineering services and guidance to the Technical/Manufacturing departments in support of projects including development and commercialization of new products. The Senior Process Engineer will also assist process development, operations and technical groups in developing and implementing process improvements, troubleshooting production/quality issues, and transferring process/troubleshooting knowledge to the organization. Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and customers as needed in troubleshooting existing products, enhancing existing products, and development of new products. Responsible for implementing and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and facilitating world‑class operations management methodologies throughout the organization.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Support Environmental Health & Safety for the facility, following all current policies and procedures and making an effort to improve the Environmental Health and Safety performance of our facility.
  • Coordinate project orders with Production Planning to best fit production schedule with minimal impact to customer orders.
  • Provide technical guidance to Maintenance operations to make improvements and resolve issues based on process knowledge.
  • Lead change for troubleshooting production and process problems; communicate with manufacturing, quality, and technical people regarding run problems; investigate root causes and recommend and help implement corrective actions.
  • Review data and trial reports from technical for products being developed and report concerns and results to the appropriate department managers.
  • Act as Production Trial owner, following and coordinating production trials and providing accurate and detailed feedback to Trial owners, Manufacturing, Technical Manager and Marketing.
  • Analyze trial quality, output and waste data to determine trial effectiveness / specification commercialization.
  • Monitor and improve product quality.
  • Resolve quality issues and dispositions of quarantined product.
  • Research assignable causes of customer complaints and work closely with customers to resolve and prevent quality issues.
  • Regularly visit customers and coordinate operator visits to customers.
  • Write, perform, analyze and report on trials, scale‑ups, and validations for the manufacturing processes.
  • Make recommendations based on trials.
  • Generate and gather ideas for product enhancements, cost savings, and new products from all sources (sales, vendors, customers, R&D, manufacturing, journals, and others); effectively communicate/interact with Sales, Marketing, and the Customer.
  • Provide suggestions for product enhancements to R&D engineers to improve manufacturing results based on process experience.
  • Operate as a “go‑to” for other Engineers, operations, and maintenance for solutions to process or quality issues.
  • Assess current processes to look for areas of improvement in processes (including procedures, conditions, and equipment) and make those recommendations to management.
  • Target/resolve repetitive customer claim issues by working with customers and manufacturing.
  • Lead continuous improvement teams to deliver process and business improvements.
  • Identify and resolve issues that impact data aspects through root cause analysis and corrective action management as it relates to specification impacts to all operation resources & departments.
  • Develop and commercialize new and improved products.
  • Develop specifications for new products and update existing specifications.
