ICL Group is seeking a Process Engineer in the St. Louis area to identify and implement process improvements using chemical engineering principles.

The role involves interaction with operators, maintenance, supervision, plant leadership, and corporate staff in a local setting. The position requires a BS in Engineering (Chemical preferred) with 2 years in manufacturing or chemical processing, strong data-driven problem solving, and the ability to lead change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Two years of experience in manufacturing, food, or chemical processing required; co-op may count.
• Strong analytical abilities and data-driven problem solving.
• Clear communication and collaboration across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify improvements and optimize processes through equipment, systems, practices and procedures.
• Develop and coordinate plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety, and competitiveness.
• Lead or coordinate troubleshooting, debottlenecking and plant tests with technical staff.
• Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes and compare costs to existing methods.
• Monitor environmental regulations and ensure compliance.
• Participate in or lead plant safety activities.

• Identify improvements and optimize processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices and procedures
• Identify opportunities, develop and coordinate plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety and competitive position
• Lead and/or coordinate troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking and plant tests with other technical personnel
• Perform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes and determine relative costs compared to existing processes
• Monitor environmental regulations and performance against regulations
• Participate or lead plant safety activities

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

• B.S. degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)
• Two years of experience in a manufacturing or food or chemical processing environment required. Relevant co-op experience may be considered in lieu of the two-year experience requirement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex problems using data
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Leadership skills and the ability to lead change
• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail
• Flexibility and availability to work weekends and holidays if needed to support department operation

What will set me apart?

• 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or food or chemical processing
• Preferred experience in calcium phosphates, potassium phosphates, and sodium aluminum phosphates.

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Annual Bonus Target: 5%, subject to plan provisions.
