Job summary

Motus Integrated Technologies, in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to drive manufacturing improvements on the plant floor. You will lead process improvements, develop layouts, and support new product launches, collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/industrial background, 3–5 years in automotive process engineering, and proficiency with CAD tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
  • 3–5 years of process engineering experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, tooling, and plant layouts.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
  • Support new product launches, process development, equipment implementation, and documentation.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and identify opportunities for operational excellence.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Support capital equipment projects from concept through implementation.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency through innovative problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Maintain and update 2D CAD plant layouts and manufacturing documentation.

Minimum Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Process Engineering experience, preferably within automotive manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, materials, and production workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
