Fives Landis Corp (Gardner Abrasives) in Illinois is seeking a Full-time Process Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment layouts. You will create CAD drawings and BOMs while coordinating with operations and production managers.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing/industrial/mechanical engineering background, proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and strong time management, analytical, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering degrees or certifications preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and common office software.
Strong time management, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment design, including CAD drawings and BOMs.
Analyze and solve complex process engineering and production challenges to increase efficiency and quality.
Maintain ECNs, technical drawings, and process documentation with current specs and revision controls.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring quality, safety, Lean manufacturing, and process optimization best practices.

JOB CONTENT

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

We are currently seeking a candidate who has the desire to prove that industry can do it!

The Process Engineer is a key role that creates drawings for manufactured product, tooling, equipment and facility layouts for various projects. The Process Engineer will communicate regularly with Operation and Production Managers to assess existing processes.

In this role, the Process Engineer identify, coordinate, and implement improvements in processes, tooling, and equipment to achieve cost savings and efficiency enhancements while maintaining safety and quality. The Process Engineer will create drawings for quoting and manufacture of conventional and super abrasive products.

At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving a common purpose. Your role will be to:

Develop and improve manufacuturing processes, tooling, and equipment design, including CAD drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), cost analysis, and procurement documentation.
Analyze and solve complex process engineering and production challenges to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Maintain accurate engineering change notices (ECNs), technical drawings, and process documentation to ensure compliance with current specifications and revision controls.
Drive continuous improvment intitiatives while ensuring compliance with quality standars, safety regulations, Lean Manufcauting, and process optimization best practices.

Education & Experience

Preferred areas of education, certifications, and skills; manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering
Experience with AutoCad, SolidWorks, and office computer software
Excellent time management skills
Good analytical skills, interpersonal, communication and visualization skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting environment
