Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Foundry Process Engineer / Process Owner for vacuum investment casting in a world-class aerospace foundry near Oxford, Alabama. You will own VIM and DS/SX casting processes, optimize thermal profiles, and drive quality and yield improvements.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering or related field, 3+ years in vacuum investment casting, and strong data analysis skills; relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience within a vacuum investment casting environment.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, solidification and nickel-based superalloys.
  • Experience with vacuum melting, induction furnaces and high-temperature casting equipment.
  • Familiarity with NDT evaluation, grain structure analysis, crystal orientation measurements.

Foundry Process Engineer / Process Owner (DS/SX Casting)-Directional Solidification (DS) and Single Crystal (SX)

Are you a Process Engineer with experience in vacuum investment casting, directional solidification (DS), or single crystal (SX) casting? Our client, a global aerospace manufacturing organization, is seeking a technical leader to own and optimize critical casting processes used in the production of advanced turbine engine components.

This is a highly visible engineering role where you will serve as the primary technical authority for vacuum induction melting (VIM) and DS/SX casting operations, driving process improvements, product quality, and manufacturing excellence within a world-class aerospace foundry environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as process owner for VIM and DS/SX casting operations
  • Optimize thermal profiles, withdrawal rates, and solidification parameters

  • Strong understanding of physical metallurgy, solidification kinetics, dendritic growth, and nickel-based superalloys
  • Experience with vacuum melting, induction furnaces, and high-temperature casting equipment
  • Familiarity with NDT evaluation, grain structure analysis, crystal orientation measurements, and metallurgical inspections
  • Experience utilizing Minitab, Excel, and process analysis tools
  • Aerospace, turbine blade, vane, or superalloy casting experience highly preferred
