Job summary

Dura-Line, part of Orbia Connectivity Solutions, is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations in Salt Lake City. You will improve BOMs, routings, and methods, while applying lean principles to drive quality and efficiency.

You will lead small projects, analyze data, and collaborate with production teams to implement standardized processes and cost reductions. Strong engineering fundamentals and CAD/ERP experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, ideally Industrial or Mechanical.
• Around 2 years of experience in production manufacturing; Plastic or Rubber industry experience is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing high-dollar strategic projects, including plant transformations and relocations.
• Proficiency in project management to ensure timely delivery of projects related to scrap & productivity goals, product introduction, OEE, conversion cost, and CAPEX projects.
• Experience with automation, digitalization, CAD drawings, tooling design, and engineering software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• CAPEX budgeting and capital project management experience.
• Analytical mindset with ability to diagnose processes and equipment and implement sustainable solutions.
• Experience with data management, document control, ISO process auditing.
• Strong leadership skills to train and coach peers.
• Experience with process scale-up, optimization, cleaning, and validation.
• Equipment specification, qualification, and automation experience.
• Leadership of small teams and projects; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve product engineering and manufacturing BOMs, documentation, and process information.
• Develop manufacturing process routings for efficient, repeatable production.
• Improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of design, materials, processes, tooling, and QC standards.
• Drive continuous quality improvement through lean manufacturing principles.
• Reduce cost and cycle time while improving reliability and consistency.
• Provide design recommendations for products and tooling to improve manufacturability and performance.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and support data-driven decisions.
• Analyze workforce utilization, space, workflow, and plant layouts to improve efficiency.
• Maintain work standards, setup times, and run times for operations.
• Provide technical support to Operations Manager for plant layout, equipment decisions, and feasibility assessments.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose processes and equipment, implementing sustainable solutions.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in both office and plant environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to weather, noise, and manufacturing conditions.
• Use of required personal protective equipment is expected in plant areas.

Our Offer:

The compensation for this position typically starts at 120,000 annually.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long‑term incentive compensation.
