Job summary

Fujifilm Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Process Engineer to support CMP slurry operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will design, troubleshoot, and optimize processes while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures, scaling up equipment, analyzing SPC data with Excel and JMP, and collaborating across QA, EH&S, and customer teams to resolve issues and drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years in high-volume chemical manufacturing or related industry.
  • Experience with LIMS, SAP, and/or SQL databases.
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking and scientific/engineering approach to solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production for high-volume processes.
  • Document procedures and update batch records.
  • Support scale-up commissioning and qualification of systems.
  • Contribute to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality programs.
  • Review raw material data in LIMS/SAP and release materials.
  • Analyze SPC data and trend alerts with Excel/JMP.
  • Generate Engineering Change Notices and MOCs as needed.
  • Participate in customer meetings and audits; respond to complaints.

The Role

Our Process Engineers provide the technical support to design, develop, troubleshoot, and characterize high volume manufacturing processes in a safe, environmentally sound, and economic manner.

Job Description
Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Monitor daily production for high volume manufacturing processes for key processes.
  • Document procedures for process of record for key processes/products. Update MII work instructions; verify batch records and MII documentation.
  • Support the scale‑up commissioning and qualification of new and replacement systems.
  • Support and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety and Quality department programs and requirements.
  • Manage raw material selection process, including reviewing raw material quality data and releasing raw materials in LIMS and SAP for use in specific customer/product combinations.
  • Review and analyze raw material trend data to proactively identify shifts that may impact our ability to meet customer control limits and/or specifications.
  • Conduct Hazard assessments including OHSAS, Environmental Assessments.
  • Conduct shelf‑life studies on new or existing products in finished good packaging and prepare technical reports.
  • Analyze statistical process control performance, OOC’s, and trend alerts. Requires use of Excel, JMP, or other statistical software.
  • Investigate nonconforming materials report findings to internal MRB and process paperwork.
  • Generate Engineering Change Notices.
  • Prepare MOCs, as required.
  • Provide problem solving expertise for a wide range of technical problems of various engineering projects.
  • Responsible for planning and executing projects, as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits, and answer customer complaints using an 8D or customer formats, as required.
  • Conduct and document trend review investigations.
  • Able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in high volume chemical manufacturing or related industry.
  • Experience working with LIMS, SAP, and/or SQL databases.
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking and scientific/engineering approach to solve product development problems in school or work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and statistical analysis of data. Familiarity with JMP statistical software is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong computer skills for Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, JMP, or other statistical software packages.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and as a team.
  • Physically able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have a valid Arizona drivers' license and clean driving record.
  • This is a safety‑sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post‑offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
