Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $96,000.00/yr

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, this role supports the design, optimization, and advancement of manufacturing systems and production methods. The position focuses on improving existing equipment performance, developing new processes, and serving as a technical owner for designated systems within the manufacturing area.

This engineer will play a key role in identifying opportunities for process enhancement, driving efficiency, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that all manufacturing operations comply with internal quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Process Development
  • Support and execute projects that improve process efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Assist in the development, design, and validation of new or upgraded manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct engineering studies to evaluate materials, process methods, and performance outcomes.
Technical Problem Solving
  • Apply engineering and scientific methods to identify, analyze, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to sustain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, and qualification processes.
  • Ensure new or modified systems meet performance expectations and compliance requirements.
Process Ownership
  • Act as system owner for assigned equipment or production lines.
  • Monitor system efficiency, track performance metrics, and proactively address recurring or systemic issues.
Project Management
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines aligned with defined goals and resource constraints.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee contractors during project execution.
  • Champion the implementation of Good Engineering Practices (GEP).
  • Ensure all work adheres to established project management standards, regulatory expectations, and company quality systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Proven background in process or equipment engineering within a biopharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, process design, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical documentation, system qualification, and report writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities effectively, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with cGMP standards, quality systems, and safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical thinker who can align technical solutions with business objectives and cost considerations.
Work Environment & Conditions

In this position, you will work in a regulated manufacturing setting that adheres to strict cleanliness and safety guidelines. You may be required to:

  • Wear protective clothing and follow gowning procedures in controlled areas.
  • Refrain from wearing cosmetics, jewelry, or contact lenses while in certain work zones.
  • Perform tasks in cold, damp, or noisy environments.
  • Occasionally handle or be near process chemicals that require the use of safety equipment or respiratory protection.
  • Work variable schedules, including weekends or extended hours, depending on production needs.

Salary Range
  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $110,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications)
