Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

Process Engineer at Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Kenedy, TX. Reports to Plant Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentation.
  • Improve process operations by providing technical support and process troubleshooting.
  • Develop process designs and procedures for new products.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports for tests conducted.
  • Assist in reviewing process designs and procedures to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation of the facility.
  • Provide programming assistance for the process control computers in the plant.
  • Understand and comply with plant safety and environmental policies.
  • Report all safety, environmental and quality risks and hazards and chemical releases.
  • Lead the facility’s continuous improvement program focusing on implementation of Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignment.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering or a related engineering degree.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of programming PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Polymer chemistry.
  • Bulk powder handling expertise.
