Impact Confections, Inc. in Janesville, WI, seeks a Process Engineer to scale up new products and technologies, drive efficiency and value across manufacturing, and bridge R&D with Operations. You will contribute to product stability, shelf life, and quality across multiple production lines.
Responsibilities include process design, scale-up from bench to production, change management, and BOM/recipe validation, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and DOE.

The Process Engineer role enables the scale-up of new products and technologies to support Impact Confection’s innovation strategy, while also driving efficiency improvements and value optimization across existing manufacturing processes. This role acts as a key link between R&D and Operations, applying scientific and engineering principles to ensure robust, capable, and scalable manufacturing processes. The position also contributes to the development and protection of intellectual property that supports long-term business growth.
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. At least 3–5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with exposure to new product or process development, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to communicate with co-workers and/or read instructions or written standards in English.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Experience supporting scale-up from pilot to commercial production.
