Job summary

RTX is seeking a Process Engineer to support Vacuum Dewar fabrication in a cleanroom environment in Goleta, CA. You will work with a team of technicians and engineers on vacuum processing, metrology, alignment, and related manufacturing steps.

The role involves developing and delivering presentations, applying SPC and DOE/ANOVA, and ensuring safety and chemical handling in daily operations. Collaboration across manufacturing and quality is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Equipment, Process, Chemical and/or Manufacturing Engineering.

Responsibilities

Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems.

RVS is seeking a Process Engineer with a background insupportingVacuum Dewar Fabrication. This position will focus on processesand techniques requiredto support the manufacture of Infrared Vacuum Dewars specifically in Wirebond and Precision Alignment. The selected candidate will work with a team of Technicians, Product Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Equipment Engineers in an ISO Class 5CleanRoom setting.

The position will also include managing process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques,yieldincrease, throughput, and safety improvements. The selected candidate will beresponsiblefor reviewing material in WIP, certifying operators and hands on processing testing and failure analysis. The candidate should have familiarity with some or all these processes: Vacuum Processing, Leak Check, Plating, Photolithography, and Metrology.

What You Will Do

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Equipment, Process, Chemical and/or Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Precision Alignment, Wire bond, Vacuum Life, Leak Check, Plating, Photolithography, and Metrology.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or schematics.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and chemical handling ability.
  • Experience with Infrared Detector Technology and Equipment and Controls Systems.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE/ANOVA).
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as the ability tolearnand use engineering and manufacturing software)

The Role Details

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
