Job summary

HSM is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize production efficiency. You will analyze processes, apply Lean and Six Sigma methods, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple teams. Design and document layouts, SOPs, and validation plans to support APQP/PPAP and change control.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and Engineering to reduce waste, improve quality, and drive cost savings while supporting a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and problem solving.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and SPC preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with ERP, BOM management and engineering changes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and time study methods to improve performance.
  • Design and implement process improvements and manufacturing layouts.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, flow diagrams).
  • Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, process validation, and readiness activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and Engineering teams.
  • Lead new product launches feasibility reviews and engineering change implementation.
  • Monitor KPIs like scrap, downtime, and rework; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance, promoting safety and quality.

What You Will Do
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs

  • Support new product launches, manufacturing feasibility reviews, and engineering change implementation

  • Lead Kaizen events, cost reduction projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical training and process guidance to production teams while supporting a culture of safety and quality
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and manufacturing process validation preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Experience working with ERP systems, BOM management, and engineering change processes
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems is highly desirable
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 20%) for supplier visits, audits, or multi-site support
