Job summary

New England Biolabs is seeking a Process Development Associate to prepare and qualify Master and Working Cell Banks; perform QC testing on GMP- and non-GMP-grade cell banks; maintain cell line storage and traceability; and support cell line engineering activities. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and hands-on laboratory techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR, DNA sequencing and standard molecular biology techniques.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all Master Cell Banks (MCBs) and Working Cell Banks (WCBs), including cell growth and suspension in freezing solution, vial preparation, and vialing.
• Performs GMP and non-GMP grade cell bank QC tests.
• Ensures proper transfer and placement of cell banks into correct storage locations.
• Assists the strain manager to ensure accurate documentation and traceability of engineered cell lines and source information.
• Assist the strain manager in cell line engineering.
• Preparation and maintenance of competent E. coli strains for in-house use.
• Perform routine environmental monitoring.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
