Responsibilities

• Ownership of processing lab equipment, ensuring specifications and procedures are created, and that qualification, preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and repairs are performed.
• Work with Process Engineers to identify, develop, scale, and automate equipment.
• Identify and collaborate with third-party system integrators as necessary to support projects.
• Collaborate with vendors and AbbVie internal functions to develop automation solutions.
• Interface with various departments to ensure processes and designs are compatible for new product technology transfer.
• Collaborate with project teams to support the execution of successful project studies.
• Support the design and development of processes for manufacturing clinical and commercial tissue products.
• Investigate and evaluate existing technology; design and implement new methodologies, materials, machines, and processes.
• Develop department standards and improve existing work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 8–10 years of process development experience in a regulated industry.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of experience or PhD with 0–2 years of experience.
• Technical/Business Knowledge: Ability to apply judgment within defined procedures, leverage statistics/analysis/simulation in design and development, and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Cognitive Skills: Ability to analyze root causes and lead problem-solving efforts.
• Ownership/Accountability: Commitment to AbbVie’s vision and operating pillars; able to lead or contribute to projects and review work of others.
• Influence/Leadership: May support cross-functional teams; interacts with internal and external customers, including senior management.
