Process Development Engineer III, Data Enablement and Analytics (DEA/PMPD)

Regeneron's Data Enablement and Analytics (DEA) team within Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) seeks a Process Development Engineer III to architect, develop, and optimize advanced data platforms and software solutions that drive bioprocess innovation. The role demands a strong engineering foundation, deep technical expertise, and the ability to lead complex initiatives at the intersection of data systems, software engineering, and bioprocess development.

You will be a key contributor to Regeneron's Unified Namespace platform, integrating mission‑critical systems and enabling real‑time data flows across PMPD. Beyond building tools, you will set technical standards, mentor citizen engineers, and influence strategic decisions that accelerate automation and data‑driven insights.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement scalable, high‑performance data solutions that integrate bioprocess workflows with enterprise platforms.
  • Design and optimize event‑driven integrations and APIs for seamless interoperability across heterogeneous systems.
  • Drive platform reliability and performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing advanced monitoring and observability practices.
  • Champion engineering excellence within Agile teams, contributing to architecture reviews, code quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, introducing innovative approaches to data engineering and operational technology integration.
Qualifications
  • PhD with 0‑3 years relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s (10+ years) or Master’s degree (8+ years) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in bioprocess development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or industrial data systems.
  • Expert‑level programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL, with a proven track record of building production‑grade applications.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, database architecture, and event‑driven design patterns.
  • Hands‑on experience with DevOps and cloud‑native technologies (Kubernetes, NixOS, Jenkins) and infrastructure‑as‑code principles.
  • Strong familiarity with Operational Technology (PI Historian, OPC, MQTT) and industrial data protocols.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor developers and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
