Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join a chemical manufacturing hub in George. You will lead the development and scale-up of new processes from laboratory concepts to pilot and full-scale production, enhancing existing lines and enabling novel techniques.

The ideal candidate holds a chemical engineering degree and has 4+ years in process development or scale-up in chemical or pharmaceutical settings, with strong design software and lab equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of new chemical processes from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct pilot plant trials, collect data, and analyze results for viability and scalability.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering to translate lab findings into robust industrial processes.
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning of new process installations.

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting a highly motivated Process Development Engineer to contribute to their innovative chemical manufacturing hub in George . This role focuses on the research, design, and scaling-up of new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and full-scale production. You will play a crucial part in enhancing existing product lines and developing novel manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical background in chemical engineering combined with practical experience in process optimization and scale-up challenges within a demanding industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes , from conceptualization to commercialization.
• Conduct pilot plant trials, gather data, and analyze results to ensure process viability and scalability.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and engineering teams to translate laboratory findings into robust industrial processes.
• Develop detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ensure all process designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements
