Job summary

TheRecruiting Pros is seeking a Process Development Engineer in Charlotte, NC to define and design new processes and improve existing ones. You will apply Six Sigma principles in a Lean manufacturing setting to optimize performance in healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and durable goods sectors.

Responsibilities include designing processes for liquid/solid chemicals, equipment specs, plant layouts, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Travel about 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in industrial/manufacturing/mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering (required).
• 3–5 years in continuous flow manufacturing of liquids or powders.
• Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments (pharma/chemicals/foods).
• Ability to balance multiple priorities across schedules, personnel, materials, and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficiency of production-related equipment and processes.
• Observe and propose improvements to procedures and equipment.
• Collaborate with operations and materials development teams.
• Design processes for mixing and packaging of liquids/solids.
• Specify equipment for chemical manufacturing and plan plant layouts.
• Assist with modifications and installation of lab equipment.
• Communicate with internal/external customers clearly and professionally.
• Evaluate quotes and coordinate with contractors on equipment selections.
• Institute quality metrics to monitor processes.
• Build a maintenance program to keep production equipment running efficiently.

Our team at TheRecruiting Pros is conducting a search for a Process Development Engineer for a high-tech manufacturer whose technologies and servicesare used from design through production in industries including healthcare, automotive,aerospace and durable goods. In this role you will be responsible fordefining and designing new processes as well as improving efficiency andquality of existing processes. You will leverage Six Sigma training tointegrate technical knowledge with operations management in this Leanmanufacturing environment. Engineering experience in chemicals, food and/orpharmaceuticals is a BIG PLUS! This position involves travel about 10% of thetime.

Routine responsibilities will require you to:

• Maintain the efficiencyand effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment andprocesses

Required Experience:

• Six Sigma Certificationpreferred
• Exposure to compatiblemanufacturing environment (such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, foods)
• Capacity to balancemultiple priorities and processes regarding schedules, personnel, materials andproduct quality measures
• Demonstrable knowledgeof Lean manufacturing, automation and quality management systems
• Well organized,self-disciplined / motivated
• Strategicplanning/thinking skills coupled with analytical and execution skills; logicaland organized
• Proficient in MS Office:PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
